In 2007 State Street purchased Currenex for US$564 Million Currenex provides an automated, multi-source FX liquidity/trade matching platform, offering anonymous or bilaterally disclosed quotes, as well as a fixed income trading platform available via private label agreements. It functions as a unit within State Street’s GlobalLink business According to the Bank of International Settlements, Currenex is the 4th largest global multi-dealer platform with 7% market share, and Jeffries calculates average daily volume (ADV) to be approximately US$95 Billion January 2020, the Financial Times reported State Street has placed Currenex up for sale. Jefferies estimates a valuation of US$900 Million when compared to peers and recent deals in this space
