2006 CDS IndexCo and Markit launched ABX.HE, a subprime mortgage backed credit derivative index followed by CMBX and LCDX. CDS IndexCo was formed from a merger of the CDS indices (iBoxx and Trac-X) in April 2004 IHS Markit indices have grown through acquisition, pre and post the 2016 IHS/Markit merger: •2007 Markit acquired CDS IndexCo. . •2007 Bought International Index Company (IIC), owner of iTraxx Europe and iTraxx Asia credit derivative indices and iBoxx bond index family •Both CDS and IIC were owned by a consortium of banks •2016 Markit took over HSBC’s Asian bond market business •2017 IHS Markit purchased Euromoney’s Equity Indices, which Euromoney had bought from HSBC in 2013
