Liquidnet is a global institutional investment network whose business objective is to connect asset managers with liquidity. The company offers multiple solutions for buy-side institutions and money managers firms to electronically execute block trades directly and anonymously across international markets. This provides institutional investors with a wholesale electronic marketplace to trade large blocks of stocks. Starting with 38 institutional member firms in the US, expanding to the UK in 2002, then Asia in 2007, Liquidnet now trades in 46 equity markets for 1,000+ institutional investment firms who collectively manage US$33 trillion in equity & fixed income assets. LiquidNet planned to list in 2008 with a US$500 Million IPO which did not proceed owing to the Global Financial Crisis In February 2020 LiquidNet announced the launch of an AI-powered data service
