CESC was established to promote cross-border trading and investment by bringing together and benchmarking performance of the 3 exchange shareholders. Cross-border indices are created based on mainland related companies listed and traded on the three exchanges CESC also sets information standards including industry classifications for listed companies, and related products. Benchmark indices include: •CES A80: the 80 most liquid stocks traded on SSE and SZSE •CES 120: the A80 plus 40 Hong Kong shares •CES HKMI: 40 most liquid and largest mainland shares listed in Hong Kong •CES Concept: Themed Pearl River Bay area indices
